I would really love to be able to have bigger side-by-sides. Instead, I had to end up making them very small in order for it to work. (sigh), I guess I’ll just keep trying, and if anyone has any suggestions on this, I would love to hear it!

Oh, and I must say again how much I’m loving my new lens! Now, I just need to get a good editing software. Right now I’m just using Microsoft Picture Manager, which was already on my computer. I’ve been tossing around the idea of either Lightroom or Photoshop Elements. What do you use? And what would you recommend?

Ok, enough of my rambling and on to the good stuff!

I love taking pictures of flowers! Here’s a few shots of the roses we had with us that day.

The kids wanted to make some table decorations for our Valentine’s dinner and this is what we came up with. They did most of this on their own with only a little help from me. It’s just hearts cut out from construction paper and threaded together. Very easy but very cute! They also made a banner just like this and we hung it across the window. Aren’t they talented?

I know, I know, I haven’t exactly been keeping up with my blog lately.  Actually, for the whole month of January and 1/2 of February, I haven’t even logged in to my account……pathetic, I know. I’ll try to do better.  And I really need to do better about taking pics. 

Speaking of pics, here’s a little sneak peek from a Valentine’s Day shoot I did with my kids. I tried to upload these yesterday, but my camera battery died, so I had to wait for it to charge before I could continue.  We had a lot of fun doing these and the weather was perfect!

I’m working on getting the rest edited and I’ll be posting those tomorrow.

A few weeks ago I took the kids to downtown Stanfield to try to get a good picture for our Christmas card this year. It was very cold that afternoon but the kids did great. I got several good photos, but for several different reasons, this is the one that ended up being on our card.

I would like to announce that I’m done with my shopping! Yayyy! Now on to the wrapping. I know I must be weird, but I actually love wrapping gifts and I’m very particular about how they look.

I’m not sure if I will get a chance to post anything between now & the end of the year, so I would like to wish you all a very “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”  See ya in 2011!!



At the beginning of this week I suddenly realized that Christmas is only a couple of weeks away, and I had not done anything to get ready for it! And since the weather this week has been nothing short of freezing outside, and the kids are still coughing their heads off, I thought it would be a good week to just stay inside and get some things checked off my list.

Take pics for Christmas cards…..check  (I was starting to stress a little about this one, but I finally got them done yesterday. Yayyyy!) Now I just need to pick them up, address the envelopes, and mail them.

Now I just need to get ‘Finish Shopping’ checked off my list. (Actually more like Start Shopping!) Other than getting the pony for the kids, I haven’t really even started!!

 I’m stuffed and my bed is calling my name!! Happy Thanksgiving!

We’ve had perfect weather the last few days so there’s been a lot of playing outside. The kids have a favorite tree that they love to climb in, and this afternoon Alia came running in the house telling me, “Hurry and come outside, Cassie’s stuck in the tree!!”

She wasn’t as high up as I pictured her being though!

Thanksgiving is almost here! I don’t know about you but I can’t wait. Great food, awesome family, shopping, and did I mention great food?

And finally, did anyone else notice the beautiful sunset right before you went trick-or-treating? After we left our house, I made my hubby pull the car over so I could get a shot of it. Or two.  :)
