After lots of editing, changing photo sizes, and trying to figure out how to post side-by-side pictures, I’m back with more from our Valentine’s shoot….minus the know-how on posting large side-by-side pics.  (Insert major frustration here!)

I would really love to be able to have bigger side-by-sides. Instead, I had to end up making them very small in order for it to work. (sigh), I guess I’ll just keep trying, and if anyone has any suggestions on this, I would love to hear it!

Oh, and I must say again how much I’m loving my new lens! Now, I just need to get a good editing software. Right now I’m just using Microsoft Picture Manager, which was already on my computer. I’ve been tossing around the idea of either Lightroom or Photoshop Elements. What do you use? And what would you recommend?

Ok, enough of my rambling and on to the good stuff!

This is my favorite picture of the day!

I love the expressions on Luke’s face in this series. :)

I love taking pictures of flowers! Here’s a few shots of the roses we had with us that day.

The kids wanted to make some table decorations for our Valentine’s dinner and this is what we came up with. They did most of this on their own with only a little help from me. It’s just hearts cut out from construction paper and threaded together. Very easy but very cute! They also made a banner just like this and we hung it across the window. Aren’t they talented?

And this is a picture of one of the candles on our dinner table…

I hope you’ve had a lovely day! :) :)

I love the one of Cassie holding the rose in her teeth, haha! Your kids have so much personality! You captured so many priceless expressions!

Now I’m curious, what lens did you get?

And since you asked I use Photoshop CS4 for my editing and I use it to put my verticals side-by-side also. I have Lightroom also because a lot of photographers recommend it, but so far I prefer Photoshop. I haven’t tried Elements though. I know it’s cheaper than Photoshop CS4 but I got mine at a discount when I was a student.

Thanks Alicia! I had been trying to decide between the Nikon 50mm or the 35mm and finally decided on the 50mm. So far, I love it.

I’m going to keep reading up on the software and hopefully make up my mind soon. Thanks for the input!

Krissy I LOVE these! Great lighting, great expressions! I use LR and LOVE it. I used to use PS and still do when I put two pictures side-by-side and for other things… but for editing, LR all the way :)
Oh, and I love the hearts the kids made too!

Thanks for the comment Bobbie. I’ve always been terrible at making decisions! I hope to decide soon though.
